Reservoir Dogs (****)

It is hard to think that this movie came out in 1992, wow time flies. The first time I saw this movie it was thanks to my friend Biggie. It was sometime in 1996 and I remember it changing a lot about what I think about movies. This movie kind of introduced me to dialogue that was witty and made a movie flow.

Starring Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney, Randy Brooks, and Kirk Baltz. Quentin Tarantino’s debut cult classic chronicles a jewelry heist gone wrong. (Miramax Films)

If you have not watched this movie in a while rent it, is on DVD now and I have not laughed this hard in a while. The movie is just pure joy. I have liked Tarantino a lot more since he was instrumental in bringing Hero stateside. I hope that it keeps on opening the door for Asian films to get out here.

Besides the good dialogue, Reservoir dogs has a great story line and just awesome acting. Sometimes I wonder if Tarantino is just lucky that he can put that much talent in one room or if he is just that good of a director that he makes every actor seem that much better. Troy (****)

I have to say that I went to this movie with mid to low expectations, which I have always found to be the best way to approach a movie. The action did not wait for no stinking story… it just started. I have to say that Brad Pitt ranks as a better actor in my book after this film. His performance was not just believable it was flawless. Orlando Bloom’s character was a little weak… I really wanted it to kick a little more ass, but oh well. The movie was long but only by the clock because while in there the time flew. It did not feel like a long movie at all. If anything I wanted it to keep on going.

Do not want to go into it to much and spoil it, but if you have seen it go ahead and comment. So stay clear of the comments until you actually watch the movie.

The Boondock Saints (****)

Most of you know how much I love movies… but it is actually rare that I can watch a movie over and over. Most movies to me lose some of their appeal after the first time you watch them. But Boodock Saints is going to make me not only chance my top five list, but also might just make the number one spot.

I watched this movie for the first time on Friday night and I have now watched it 4 times since then. If you have not watched the movie do so now… I do not want to ruin the plot too much because it is very simple. I am not sure why it did not make in into theaters; maybe it is the strong subject or that inability for people to deal with some facets of life, who knows.

I first heard about this movie from Jen one of my martial arts friends… but put it in the back of my head and did not rent it… this week Bogi made it a point to get it and we watched it… and since then I have been hooked. AEQUITAS – VERITAS. Dam I want a new tattoo now. It was actually funny cuz my friend Jen just got one this weekend… and on top of that she knows 12 other people that have gotten tattoos from the movie. Crazy, maybe a little but the movie is just that cool.
