First lets get the question that most people ask first out of the way, Logtar has been my online handle since back in college, I got it out of a video game and it is pronounced LOG-TAR

I grew up in a big city in Colombia, in fact the third largest city behind Bogota and Medellin. Many people think of Colombia as a country where the streets are not paved and you have to travel in a cargo plane to get there… that is actually not true, but if you want to learn more about where I was born, I run a blog dedicated to just that. Check it out.

My first language is Spanish, and I started this blog to improve my writing. It has done a lot more than that for me, it has connected me with people from all over the world. Most importantly, thanks to this blog I met my wife. We are actually from the same city in Colombia but were living in North America when we started talking, she was in Canada and I was here in the US. After years of friendship we ended up together and now call the Kansas City area our home.

Before KC I lived in Michigan for some years I rather forget about, even though I did make some great friends there. I consider my hometown in the US Chicago where I spent 10 years. I went to high school and college there, and most of my family still lives there. I visit as often as I can, say “sammich” and love Chicago style deep dish pizza.

I started my professional life as a computer programmer, but I have also done a lot of system integration and implementation, project management and lots of consulting and freelance work. I also write for blogcritics and an online tech website.

In my spare time I love to hang out with my wife and friends the most. I also enjoy movies and books, but love video games. I do not play them as much as I would like, but some day we have to grow up… right? I also love martial arts, I have practiced Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu. I also love anything to do with martial arts of all styles. I enjoy playing chess a lot, but don’t turn down a challenge in other board game. My other passion is motorcycles even though right now I am bikeless… eventually I will be back in two wheels.

I love to talk, rant, discuss but not argue… I have been accused of talking about philosophy a little too much, but I think the brain needs exercise just as much as the body.

Life is a river of ever flowing water that sometimes gets damned by situations. Sometimes life itself makes the water stop flowing, sometimes we are the culprits. I felt like the water that made up my soul was stagnant for quite some time. Thankfully it feels once again like it is flowing and recent years feels like a dream.
