Why I will be cheering for the hated Green and Gold

Besides the obvious that Rapistburger should not win a ring …I am still in shock that he got away with so much and it still earning money as an NFL player… I will be cheering for the “Pack” for several reasons.

First one is I lost a bet to Keli Deguia. I was seriously pretty confident that Cutler was going to get on a hot streak and just dominate the playoffs. I seriously thought we finally had an offense.

I hate Bret Fart. Having the Packers win without him makes me happy. He is a classless, self obsessed media whore that represents all that wrong with our spotrs/celebrity culture. At the end of his career he really showed his true colors, specially when he disrespected all the players that helped him in the past by constantly saying that the Vikings had the best team ever… please, give your teammates from the past respect… you would have been nothing without your receivers you dbag!

Aaron Rodgers. The dude is a stud. He is classy, handled the whole taking the team over from King Favre very well and has done an outstanding job. Don’t get me wrong, seeing him spit blood after that hit made me happy… but the dude deserves a ring and we deserve to be better opponents if we are going to win against them twice a year in the future.

Mike McCarthy. You have coached well… and your organization has now been lucky enough to have two great quarterbacks back to back… if we could only be so lucky.

NFC Pride. Seriously… we might hate the Packers and have to deal with all the crap that comes with them winning the Superbowl, but it is still our division and the team that beat us should beat the other division.

So, lets lose with some class like our Defense did. They went down fighting til the end, and we know Packers fan all over were swallowing their tongue when Ulracher grabbed that ball… darn it for missed opportunity. Congratulations Cheeseheads!

Wake Up People

I stopped writing about politics because most people are pretty uninformed when it comes to the subject. It is amazing how easily people turn into sheep because they prefer to listen to the talking heads on the T.V. and also like to get their morals from other people instead of thinking for themselves. I am little pissed off right now that most of the news coverage here in the US have already begun to paint Jared Lee Loughner as just some unstable person, a lone wolf… are people seriously that naive that they think hate speech and political stupidity don’t lead to these types of acts?

I am sad that I had to go all the way to the UK’s newspapers to get more information on the guy that shot an ELECTED OFFICIAL. Trying to get through the noise I gather that he thought our government was trying to mind control us with the use of grammar, and that our currency is bad because it is not backed by gold and silver. He was not only a right wing nut, he was also pretty scary to those around him.

Some people are so stupid to think that when they start talking about politics and using hateful speech, that people around them view them as someone that should be looked up to for what they believe. In reality, most people that see and hear that level of nonsense on someone put them in the “nut” category and start dismissing not just their political view, but pretty much everything they say. The moment that you buy into hate speech it is the moment that others disassociate you from intelligence.

I know a lot of very conservative gun lovers. I was sure that something this big will outrage them and make them denounce how horrible an act this is. Nope, they are pretty busy fearing how Obama is going to really institute big brother into our lives and maybe, just maybe he is the Antichrist and will be putting the mark of the beast in all of us.

Why is this making me so upset. While the congresswoman is fighting for her life, all I can think about is those six other people that are dead. Someone very dear to my heart is involved in the political process. If the headline was not in AZ but in MO, there would have been a chance that he was at a political event.

As human we are flawed because sometimes what does not affect us directly its missed by our radar. I have no idea how I would have reacted if my friend was amongst those shot. All I can ask is that people wake up, stop the hate speech and start really evaluating what is it that you are letting into your brain and promoting. Gun violence is sad as it is; but it is a sad day when your elected officials start getting shot.

I am not a huge history buff; for the most part the subject was very boring at school. I used to love geography and maps, but remembering dates was never my thing. It came as a huge surprise to me that classical music, in the grand scheme of things, is actually not that old. I mean Beethoven died in 1827. It’s kind of weird that the thing that has made me interested in history is actually a reality show. When the dude from Pawn Stars starts seeing dollar signs as things are truly old, it makes me dislike him a little… but then he is so good at what he does and just so extremely knowledgeable that I can look past the whole (it’s just about money part of the show.) His talk about old stuff has actually made the centuries click in my head a lot more than years of history lessons at school.

Getting back to the music thing, I did not realize that most of the classical music (or what is consider classical music) is in a way pretty recent. Bea and I recently went to the Symphony and had an amazing time. Reading about the composer, and how he really never though it was good gave the music a new dimension. Looking at professional musicians perform was delightful and watching Stephen Hough on the piano was probably a once in a lifetime experience.

The thought lingered in my head that more people should have access to the beauty that is art. One of the things that has always bothered me about the fine arts is that they are truly not that accessible to everyone. I was able to go see theater once as a kid in Colombia being middle class, and as an adult I probably get to a play or show about once a year. The symphony was first, but it is costly and not something that I could truly do once a month. There is a huge price tag attached to art.

It was an awesome surprise when at the movies I saw that Fanthom events is actually going to make performances from the LA Philharmonic available at many theaters. Sure it is not the same as watching this live, but it is at least a way to make it accessible to more people. If you have a chance check it out. The symphony is an awesome thing to go to!
