It always scares me when anyone starts to see a politician as an answer to problems. Whether it was Bush or Obama, they are both two breeds of the same horse.

You touch on an interesting topic when it comes to capitalism. We've talked about it quite a bit at work recently too. The pure concept of capitalism does work. The problem is that it REQUIRES pain. And people just don't want to have to go through ANY pain anymore. If you make an awesome sewing machine and I make a crappy one and we are competing in a capitalist economy, I eventually go out of business and my employees loose their jobs too. Is that a FLAW of capitalism?? NO! That is the design! Competition allows the best to rise to the top. So, now Bob Smith comes along and has a better design. He enters the market and forces you to stay on edge instead of just slacking off and being content with mediocrity. The Free Market corrects itself if left alone, but it does require pain. Not to sound like a broken record, but the real problem we have today comes from people looking to OTHERS to solve their problems instead of the innovative, self-reliant, "I can do it" spirit that made this country what it is today.
