Stress building up?

I heard in the radio this morning that this week is the one where most people get divorced. It makes sense since the decision to get a divorce is one that comes with wanting a different life, a fresh start. The radio show said that the most common reason is infidelity followed by abuse and then money problems.

A marriage is hard work, but it should not feel like it. If we learn to recognize how taxing the holidays can be in a relationship, we can begin to address things before they become issues.

The holiday season can really make you lose perspective over what is really important. Wanting to give the perfect gift or host the perfect party can really take a lot out of someone. Then the new year hits and all of those resolutions that did not get accomplished from last year can pile up and make it seem like another year went by without much change in life.

I really think the secret to a good life is having peace of mind. Being able to sit in a room by yourself and just be content with your life. Be able not to forget about your problems, but know that you have plans to tackle each one of them. Also counting your blessings and seeing where you are at instead of where you have not been able to get to.

It is important to be able to know what it is that releases your stress. A good crying session, a round of video game playing, a good book, a great CD. Don’t let stress get built up, take a moment of your day to decompress. Also don’t forget to laugh, make sure that you have something in your daily routine that brings a smile to your face.

Make sure that now that you are back at work, or school, or into your routine you put what is important first. Make sure that you take the time to clear your head each day instead of carrying stress that does not need to be carried. Open up to those around you about what is on your mind and encourage them to do the same. Move forward and make little changes to your life instead of trying to reshape it all in one day. Most important, be happy that you are awake and that you are taking on a brand new day.

American Gladiators

American Gladiator Titan

American Gladiators premiered last night. It still has all the charm of the gladiators I remember watching when I was younger. They seemed to have tried to keep everything that was good from the original from the corny names to the best events.

I was very surprised to see Laila Ali as a host and not so surprised to see the Hulk. I compare the Hulk’s commentary to Madden’s in the sense that they both try to be serious but sound hilarious. They did move things along and I was very pleased with Ali’s skills as a host.

The challenges are a mix of new and old, some of the stuff even borrowed from the Ninja Warrior, and MXC aka Takeshi Castle. It think they even borrowed the voice of the main announcer. I also swear that the main referee is the same one that appeared on Dodgeball, but IMDB did not confirm it for me. I was glad to see hang tough and powerball come back. One of the funnest to watch beside the eliminator is the pyramid where the contestants are just totally outranked in size by the gladiators.

The gladiators are hilarious, Titan looks like a real live Ken doll on steroids because he looks almost made out of plastic (as pictured above). Wolf and Toa are totally made to be characters that just grunt and howl but Wolf seems to forget and talk once in a while. The only shame is the Hellga was not on more, We want Hellga!!!

The show is actually going to be on tonight on their regular time slot of 8/7 c so watch it, there is really nothing else on TV. It is pure dumb fun entertainment, you will laugh for sure.

A lot of my friends got Wii`s over the holiday season, some even have Guitar Hero which is an awesome over the net multiplayer game. So, if you have a Wii add me to your address book and send me your wii code.

If you have Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii, add me to your buddy list and lets battle online.

You can post your numbers right on the comments. Because the cool thing about the wii is that you have to also add the number of the other person… nice security feature.

Obama for President

I have been a conservative for many reasons in the past. However, ever since I heard the Obama name I have been intrigued by this man. Before you say that I am jumping in the bandwagon because he won Iowa and is looking pretty good for New Hampshire, I mentioned his name back in September of 05 and then wrote him an open letter in December of 06.

My friend Daniel just posted Obamas speech after Iowa, go check it out. He has been supporting him with badge which I am now going to do. I have been waiting for the correct moment to start spreading the word, and I believe now that a predominantly white state was able to vote for him over Hilary.

This country needs change, and right now out of both parties he is the candidate that looks to me like the face of change.
