What You Mean To Me

Beatriz and I were online friend before we met. What many don’t know is that we were both married at the time to different people. No, this is not the tale of how we found each other online and ended our horrible marriages to be with the ones we truly loved. We never imagined that we would end up together but in a way we both knew we had a connection, we just did not know how strong.

Back then we were both with people that even though are not bad people were not good for us. We had a life back then that was full of doing what we were supposed to do rather than what we wanted to do. Even though we still have plenty of responsibilities in life, we are in a much different place than back then. Now we have someone right next to each other not just because there is this thing called marriage that unites us, but because we love each other and want the other one to succeed on each others pursuit of happiness.

Like any other couples there are challenges, but the difference between what I have experienced in the past is that we each care so much about each other that no disagreement is something that separate us but an attempt to make our bonds tighter.

Today its Bea’s birthday and even though I have to thank her parents for being the ones that brought her into the world and help shape the person that she is, I wanted to list publicly some of the reasons that I love this woman with all my heart.

I love you because without you I would not have gotten through so much this year, you have been there very step of the way right next to me.

I love you because you understand where I come from, but most importantly you are here with me through the journey towards where I want to be and because you help me become what I want to become.

I love you because you get me, you understand where my passion comes from, you understand what moves me and you have been interested in hearing about it every step of the way, I love you because you take the time to get to know me.

I love you because you do not want to change who I am, in fact you love me because of who I am.

I love you because of how strong you are, and even though you at times feel like you are not, you have survived through so much.

I love how you balance me and when I am too logical you are irrational and vice versa!

I love all of your flaws, even if they sometimes frustrate me; because you know how to admit you are not perfect and through that you have helped me understand that being a little jaded is just part of life.

I love the fact that you love your family, I know you miss them and now that I have met them I can say I miss them too. I also love that you love my family and have helped me see how much I love them too.

I love you because of how many friends you have, and how you share the joy of knowing them with me.

Every day I wake up, the first thing I want to see is you!

I love you because you are intelligent, caring, compassionate, beautiful and most of all because you have faith.

Most of all I love you because you are you!
