Firefox Speed Config

If you have firefox, as you should (IE Sucks.) you should also do a little changing so your browsing speed improves. That is if you have a high speed connection. Download the latest version (here).

In your address bar type about:config and press enter.

Then on the filter type network.http.p and press enter.

Double click on

network.http.pipelining and network.http.proxy.pipelining to change them both to true (the default is false)

then double click on

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests make it 8 which is the max (the default is 4).

Happy Surfing.

  1. Thanks for the tip! I love Firefox, but it does seem really poky for me, both on the Mac I use at home and on the PC I use at work.

  2. Old trick is oooold.

And you really ought to be using Opera. Firefox screws around with your HTML before interpreting and displaying it. Pain in my butt, I tell ya.

  3. I know its not anything new, but I saw a wave of people posting it with 30 and I figured not everyone knew about it. Its a pretty neat trick.

  4. It’s new to me. ;-)
