Coloring Adults

Lately I have been wanting to restart my inner creativity. I have not started playing music again, but I might soon. For now I have been coloring. Yes as in picking up some color pencil and just going back and forth in a piece of paper. Why? Simple, it makes me feel like a kid again.

My current relationship is awesome because I get to feel like I am dating someone back in high school. I am excited every time I see her, and we laugh all the time. She is also a very deep and intellectual person, but inside she is a little kid at heart like I am. I get to let my inner child out and it feels good. My inner child gets very mischievous if he is kept inside for too long.

She was the one that bought the color pencils because she used mandalas in the past as relaxation therapy. Then watching the special with the Blue Man Group made me realize how right they were. We lose color as a form of expression every day. When kids we all paint, but as we get older we do it less and less. It does not have to be good, it does not have to be cool, it just has to be an expression of who you are or where you are in life. That made me decide to start this meme. Coloring Adults is the title and here we go.

Coloring Adults

1. Grab water colors, crayons or coloring pencils from your nearest kid… yes if it means going to Fridays or IHOP and obtaining some, do it!

2. Grab a blank piece of paper and just draw whatever you feel like. Then take a picture and scan it and join us on the flickr group. Flickr is not required, its just more fun. If not just send me an e-mail with it and I will upload it for you.

4. Link back to this post to see where the idea was originated (http://blog.logtar.com/2007/09/03/coloring-adults/). Even if you don’t use Flickr, make sure you link back to the group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/479900@N21/). Also make sure to link the person that tagged you.

3. Now the fun part for the meme attacker (that would be you). You get to tag 5 people with the meme, but you get to give them something to draw. I figured we should start with a Bee! So that is what I am tagging my first victims with. Play along, tag others, do as you please! Just draw and have some fun!

- Victims – Bea, Daniel, Eric, Shellim, and Andrea.

  1. I signed up and will post something soon. Thankfully my niece and nephew still think my limited ability to draw cartoons is exciting.

  2. Does coloring via photoshop count? Didn’t think so… I may have to give this a try. I did make some construction paper art at one point tho.

  3. I need to steal some crayons…
