Free Hugs

I think that blogs will change the world… no seriously. Something else is happening that could also change the world. The Free Hugs Campain… watch this video, it will truly make you feel human again… oh and HUG SOMEONE.

This is actually a topic that I touched on before. I believe human contact is necessary and missing from our lives, specially here in the U.S.

Back to Goofy

If you ever read the title of this site somewhere “A child stuck in adulthood” you will understand that I have always been troubled by the sense of maturity. I had to be mature at a very young age because of a series of situations… by the time I was 12 I had already had to protect my sister from a gun fight… but that is a whole other story… by the time I was 16 I had to learn a brand new language, learn how to rent an apartment in a brand new country and learn how to write checks to pay bills.

Even when I was younger, 6 – 10, I was very concentrated on school and I did not have time to goof of as much as other kids my age did. I went to a school that required me to really apply myself. I also had a really different situation when it came to peers, around the neighborhood I had friends my age, but everyone in my classes was at least two years older than me so I had to kind of speed up a lot of growing up because of that.

I still had time to play and do other kid stuff, but mentally I grew up very quickly because of all the responsabilities I had with school. I don’t regret it, I think it made me who I am now, and I cherish still having that child inside me screaming to get out. The funny thing about the subject of my blog is that it does not refer to me now as much as the child that had to grow up so quick to keep up with the world around him. I guess now I am more of an adult making sure that child never dies.

If you have never read the book The Little Prince you should. Like Harry Potter, which is another one of my favorite books, it makes you think back to when you were a child. Think of it a lot of the things I love todo as an adult are activities that in one form or another make me feel like a child. I love martial arts because every single time I take a belt test I feel that same fear I used to as a child to truly perform a task well… and then when you get that belt, the feeling is wonderful.

I think keeping your inner child alive is one of the most important things you need to do in your life. In a sense it is the easiest way to get back to your own humanity. Children are pure and innocent and life can take that away from you. Believing in people’s goodness is a great thing that must children can do, I think that is an awesome treat… just read the following joke and tell me that kids are not hilarious.

Movie Watching

So, do you know that movie theater that used to be cool when it was brand new but now its not owned by a chain anymore… yea, the lack of fundage took me there. Well it was more my friends paying or me.

So as we arrive I see so many people hanging out outside, mind you it was freaking cold, that you would think they were giving away free ipods. The age demographic was from teenager to young adult, but the intelligence was around 5 or 6 year olds all around. We make our way through the croud, I am there with Aaron, built like a lineman for the bears, his sis and her boyfriend. People part way because face it, we already look annoyed enough to give a wedgie.

So I am perched just from looking at all the drooling that the nimrods were doing all around me and since I did not have to pay for the ticket I felt like a super sized 4 dollar Pop. I reach of the straws and see that the size of the straw is just not going to allow me to drink all of my pop… so I ask the only adult in the room working behind the counter for longer staws and I swear he looked at me like it was a huge revelation that the straws were too short. Then he said we don’t have any.

When we entered the theater I felt like I was entering a Olson twins concert or something. People were standing up and just talking at a volume that even for outside talking was too loud. “O’h my GoD, Britney come and sit over here.” Then the guys enter… Josh, Josh… hey man, where are you sitting. I am half hoping that they are all going to begin a makeout session with Britney and Tiffany, but no… the two doods sit together and start getting way too close for my confort.

Preview begin, and the noise level seems to rise… the projectionist turns the speakers so loud that the back speakers sound like they are going to come off the wall. As the volume for the previews go up so does the volumen of Britney’s and Tiffany’s conversation. Mind you there is not just a pair of Britney’s and Tiffany’s its a whole Mabeline Battalion… I am starting to wonder if they put some kind of weird compound on their make up… warning, putting this on your face will make your voice go to a pitch that can throw bats off course mid flight.

The movie is about to start and I’ve had enough. The people in front of me are probably just a little younger than I am and probably should have warned them. I took a deep breath and yelled “Sit down and Shut the f@ck up!” the guy in front of me said thanks and people started to applaude. The rest of the movie was not completely quiet, but it was at least manageable. Man do not ever want to go to the cheap theater again.

Feast One Hundred & Fifteen

Here s another Friday Feast, and as always : Come out and PLAY!

Approximately how many hours per week do you spend reading other blogs?
It varies, since I us google reader it makes it efficient but say maybe 3 hrs total… if I had the time I would do it probably 3 hours a day… so much good stuf to read out there.

Your community wants everyone to give one thing to put into a time capsule. What item would you choose to include?

I would write a letter with what I think should change with the world in hopes that it has… then I would get 2 rubix cube and take the stikers off and mix colors and make it impossible to solve. Buahaha!

What is the most interesting tourist attraction you’ve ever visited?

I did not like Vegas but it was interesting for sure… I would say Cancun.

Main Course
If you could give an award to anyone for anything, who would it be and what would the award be titled?
I would give my Grandfather, Mentor Lifetime Achievment Award. For teaching me more about life than anyone else I have ever met.

What do you think your favorite color reveals about your personality?
I think green reveals how much of a dreamer I am.
