The country makes me smile!

The country lets me refer to two things, one is my country of Colombia and the other is the local paper from my birth city Cali, Valle. Both made me smile this morning when I opened up the paper’s website and I found the following news.

Thousands of Paramilitaries will receive pardon.

The Government authorized by decree a pardon for thousands of paramilitary demobilized and he granted them the title of political delinquents, but he excluded the authors of atrocious crimes or serious violations against human rights, between which there are some commanders who Thursday began to declare before the Office of the public prosecutor. In that beautiful country where I was born things are changing. In part because of President Uribe, but most of all because of Colombians desire to keep going. A lot of people outside of Colombia don’t understand the pride we feel for our land and how much we want for things to get better.

  1. One of the things I still plan to do in my life is visit the many places that make the USA unique. I would love to show my girls all the achitechtural and natural wonders it has to offer. It would also be nice to visit other countries for their culture and beauty.

  2. I agree with you Melissa, I think America has a lot to see. Even though the history here is not like in Europe there is still a lot to do and see in many Cities. Chicago and Kansas City are both awesome cities with as much culture as many others. Heck just in north america you can go to Quebec where they speak French or South of the border (or 26th street in Chicago) where they speak only Spanish.

I would love for every one of my friends to visit my beautiful country, but if not, just visit around the US, drive, travel don’t be afraid of seeing what’s around you.

  3. Aw well, Colombia is nothing like the great state of Texas, bwahaha. :p

  4. April is buying tickets for a butt kicking! ;-)
