I just thought the movie was poorly executed because it did not really do anything right. I think that fans might have felt shorted and non-fans were for the most part lost. This is pure english comedy with a sci-fi twist. I was working on a project in the armpit of Georgia one July when my friend gave me the HHGTG book 1. I loved it. It made me forget about the crap I was in and I totally lost myself. To each his own I say, but I love Douglas Adams' work. I think it's brilliant. Ok, I give that Zaphod's winking was a little too much, but Trillian was hot none-the-less. And you have to love Marvin! Marvin is my hero. He symbolizes how I feel sometimes at work... Nothing doing :-) Your review did not sound so very bad at all - pretty familiar story :-) From what I have read so far I think the problem with the movie is that it is not absurd and self-contradicting enough to really live up to the five-part-trilogy :-) Logtar, you are definitely a no-fan of HHGTTG.
