“When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that
the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive
— Albert Einstein

Who is this guy… does he thinks he is smart or something 😉

This quote reminds me of another quote I have in a T-shirt. “Once your mind is streched by an idea it never recovers its original size.” I think imagination and in the above quote, fantasy are the true gifts and not just pure hability to retain knowledge. Maybe that is what will separate us from the machines in a not so distant future. Our hability to use our imagination, is something that will not be able to be replicated by a machine.

I love watching movies, but I like reading books more… the problem is that with limited time, it is easier to watch a movie than to read a book. I like books better simply because you are using your own imagination when you read a book. You are imagining the places the author is describing as well as the situation and characters. A movie to me while cool, it is still the interpretation by the writer and director of what a story is… not that this is bad in all cases, but I prefer my own interpretation.

  1. guess im a realist. dissapointing to many. i dont like to dwell in fantasy land because i know it gets me no further than eyecandy and a 17inch screen. but i will admit fantasy has it place too. wish i could unlock mine. signs heavily

  2. The other good part with books is the only budget limitations are the ones your imagination has…which are pretty much unlimited.

  3. Well, I seem to be one gifted individual. As much as I love my imagination and use it often, it sometimes gets me in trouble. Ah well, I would much rather dwell in my happy little mind than have to face the horrors of the “real world”. All the best. 😀
