Blade (****)

I watched Blade again for the 2o0-th or so time. This being not only one of the first movies I watched and owened on DVD but also a movie that combines my favorite genres. Martial Arts, Action and Vampires. Wesley Snipes is a seasoned martial artist in several arts like Karate, Kung Fu and Capoeira. I have also heard, but don’t quote me on this that he is a 3rd degree black belt on Tae Kwon Do, but it could be just a rumor originated by the fact that his wife is Korean. I think the fact that Snipes is a martial artist makes the movie that much more fluid and believable. The stunts seem more natural than in other action films.

The movie never feels like it came out of a comic book, and even though there are a couple of sequences that could be concidered somewhat animated, it never steers clear from the main action. The one liner blade uses are very appropriate and never corny. The character does not say much and kicks a lot of butt. What more can you ask from an action movie.

  1. Thank you, Logtar, for your wonderfully wise and refreshing advice. My stomach is still in knots over the whole thing, but I’m pretty sure IF I just handle it with God’s grace first, then I’ll be okay. Just too many emotions are playing their parts all at once and it’s confusing my thoughts…I’m feeling rather than thinking…which is going to change right now. Thanks again for your concern and friendship – it means so much to me. *many hugs*

  2. i love blade too! vampires and swords — two of my most favorite things. :) anyway, thanks too for your advice on my help entry. Much appreciated. I have carried this long enough…but i’m still scared. I will try to do as you (and my other friends) suggested though… and hope i get through it. Thanks again.
