Incredible technology wielded by a mind of infinite evil is threatening the safety of the entire world. To fight the unthinkable, the British government will have to mobilize the extraordinary. This team — The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen — is the only thing standing between the future and total destruction. (20th Century Fox).
Well, this movie is defenetly a rental. The movie starts with the promise of being excellent. With good characters that could have been a lot better if they all had their own movie. I think the concept of a league works if the characters have already been developed and you can get right into the action. Like Blade teaming up with Spiderman and Daredevil. But in a single movie introducing 6 or 7 main characters just does not do justice to any of them. Granted most of them are notorious figures in literature, but what is interesting to me in this type of movies is the portrail of such known characters.
The movie has some decent scenes with good special effects, martial arts and gun fights. But there is really not a good story to hold it all together. The DVD has soome good behind the scene features but a rental will suffice.
